I have been reading a lot of diaries recently and something that links a lot of them is that they contain a coherent list of characters that are mentioned frequently, I think this is a great idea because I tend to get immersed in new diaries and it tells so much about the person to read about their significant others and friends. So I thought there's a bandwagon if ever I saw one and so true to form I am attempting to jump on. This would turn out to be so much more interesting to casual readers if I actually knew more people than I do, but here goes.

In the real world.

My sis - She is a combination of my relative (so we can treat each other badly) and also my best friend (so when we do, we feel like crap). She used to be an idiot, never sticks with anything for any length of time and was hopeless with money, now she holds down a job, copes with living back with my parents and has the best sense of humour about life that I'm inspired. Don't tell her I said that though.

My mum - We can get on like friends but this can backfire and we need breaks, I am slowly turning into her (but only the bad annpying bits) she is very very clever but has no common sense to speak of.

My dad - Still thinks I gave up smoking years ago, I hate to let him down, he's a worrier like me, I can't watch football with him, he drives me insane.

D - My new flatmate, had a brief flirtation with him last year and he became a good friend, he's hopeless with women but has a heart of gold, a complete gentleman in a kind of laddish way.

B - The ex boyfriend, was going to marry him about 10 years ago, thank christ 'that' didn't happen, recently met up through friendsreunited but only in a textual way, he lives in the area and claims to see me around the place, I have bad eyesight made worse by alcohol consumption.

The German- Bizarrely we like each other, the same amount and at the same time, to balance this stupendous occurrence he lives in the wrong country.

Steve- Another Shunt meet that has become a good friend.

ChrisL- Met in the days of nme chat, my job suffered and I increased my daytime lager drinking and cigarette smoking. About to become a real productive member of society.
